Moorside Day Centre
Situated within our Moorside nursing home, this service operates two days a week, on Mondays and Tuesdays. We provide supportive facilities between 9.30am and 3.30pm for mentally frail older people in the community, predominantly those with dementia. One of our primary aims is to provide respite for carers in the community. Attendance at the day centre can sometimes be a prelude to planned respite breaks for longer periods at the home.
A meal is provided at midday for those attending and the staff organise a range of games, quizzes and activities to encourage stimulation and co-ordination. The minibus is often used to take the members out for a day trip.
Again, the charity is obliged under its Charitable Scheme to provide support for people of limited means and so a financial information assessment form has to be completed by prospective applicants, in addition to the supply of information about care needs.
Referrals should be made on the appropriate referral form and the form should be returned, together with the financial enquiry form and medical consent form. A home visit will be made to assess applicants for day care.
The current attendance charge from 5th May 2016 is:
£47.00 per day, and £9.20 for return trip minibus transport.
